40 questionsOrdering and quotes
Is there a difference between the form on the home page and the quote page?
No. Both land in the same inbox and get the same written reply. The quote page simply has room for a file and several lines.
Does 1,000 sheets have to be one size, or can I split it?
The minimum applies per size and color. 500 of one size and 500 of another is two lines under the minimum, so each needs its own 1,000.
Can I order one roll to try before committing to more?
Yes. One roll is the minimum and a perfectly good first order. Plain rolls skip the proof, so it is also the quickest way to get paper in hand.
How are rolls priced if there is no price on the page?
By the roll, on the written quote. Width and length set it, and the number of rolls moves it. Sheets show from $0.30 a sheet because the count is fixed.
Do repeat orders need a new quote each time?
A reorder of the same paper and print can run from the last quote within 30 days. Beyond that, reply to the old thread and a refreshed quote comes back within a business day.
Is there a discount for ordering plain and printed paper together?
Pricing is by line, so there is no bundle rate. Larger counts on a line do bring the sheet price down, and that is where the saving is.
Will you tell me if I am ordering the wrong paper for the job?
Yes, on the quote itself. If waxed white is asked for a smoker, or 12 x 12 in sheets for a brisket, we say so. The better fit is quoted beside it.
Can I pay by card, or only by invoice?
Orders are invoiced after proof approval, and the invoice lists the ways to pay it. We do not take payment on the site.
Proofs and artwork
How long does the first proof take to arrive?
Usually one business day after the quote is accepted and the file is in. A clean vector file is faster to set than a photo of a sign.
What is the smallest text that prints readably on butcher paper?
About 8 pt for a bold face, 10 pt for a thin one. Smaller type fills in as the ink spreads into the fiber.
Can you match my brand color exactly?
On white paper, closely, to a Pantone solid-coated reference. On pink and kraft the paper tints the ink, so the proof shows the shift and you decide.
What is the difference between a single logo and a repeat pattern?
A single logo prints once per sheet in a fixed spot. A repeat tiles the mark across the whole roll or sheet so it shows wherever the paper is torn.
Can I approve the proof from my phone?
Yes. Reply to the proof email with approval in writing. A thumbs-up on WhatsApp is not enough; we need the words in the thread.
Do you keep my artwork for the next order?
Yes. The approved proof file stays on record so a reorder goes straight to production without a new proof, unless you change something.
Can I print a QR code or a website address on the paper?
Yes. A QR code needs to be at least 1 in square and printed in one dark color on white or pink to scan reliably. On kraft, scan the proof with your phone first.
Why does the proof look different from the picture I made?
Because the picture is a placement guide at screen resolution. Prepress rebuilds it from your original file, trues the size and separates the colors into inks.
Paper colors and coatings
Is pink butcher paper dyed, or is that its natural color?
It is a light dye in the pulp. The color does not rub off, run under steam or reach the meat.
Does waxed white paper go in the smoker?
No. Wax melts and smokes. Waxed white is for wet counter wraps and cold product; uncoated white, pink or kraft go in the smoker.
Why does kraft paper darken where the meat touches it?
Fat soaks into the unbleached fiber and shows as a darker patch. It is cosmetic, and most delis like the look. Pink does the same but hides it.
Is there a difference between pink and peach butcher paper?
No. Peach paper is the same pink butcher paper under another name. Some suppliers call it one, some the other.
Does white butcher paper have a bleach smell or taste?
No. Bleaching happens at the pulp stage and the finished paper has no odor. It wraps sliced meat and cheese without any taste carrying over.
Which color shows a four-color logo best?
White. It is the only one with a neutral base, so reds, blues and yellows print as drawn. Pink and kraft shift everything warm.
Can waxed paper be printed?
Yes. The logo goes on the unwaxed face and the wax finish on the other side, so the print never touches the food.
Does pink paper really help the bark more than white?
Not by itself. Pink and uncoated white are the same sheet, so the bark behaves the same. Pink wins because smoke stains and grease disappear on it.
Rolls, sheets and sizes
Should a smokehouse buy rolls or pre-cut sheets?
Rolls if a dispenser sits by the pit and the crew tears to length. Sheets if wraps happen fast at a table, or if a logo must land in the same place every time.
How heavy is a 24 in x 1,000 ft roll to lift onto a dispenser?
Heavy enough that one person lifts it carefully with two hands; a 36 in roll is a two-person lift. Ask for 700 ft rolls if the dispenser sits high.
Do table cover rolls differ from wrapping rolls?
Same paper, wider and often shorter: 36 to 48 in wide and 300 ft long. A roll that size is light enough to carry to an event and run down a table.
Can I get sheets banded in counts instead of loose?
Sheets come loose in flat stacks. Say on the quote if you want them banded in counts for a serving line and we tell you whether that size allows it.
How many 12 x 12 in wraps come out of an 18 in roll?
None cleanly. An 18 in roll cut at 12 in gives 12 x 18 in sheets. For a true 12 x 12 in, order pre-cut sheets or a 12 in roll as a custom slit.
Which roll fits a wall-mounted counter dispenser?
Most wall units take 18 in or 24 in. Measure the blade width and the cradle depth; the cradle sets the longest roll that fits, usually 1,000 ft.
What is a liner and how is it different from a sheet?
A liner is a sheet cut small, 8 x 10 in to 12 x 18 in. It sits in a basket or a tray under fries and sandwiches. Same paper, smaller cut, usually white or kraft.
Can I order an odd quantity, like 2,500 sheets?
Yes. Anything from 1,000 up is quoted at the count you ask for, and the quote notes the carton count that results.
Shipping and reprints
Does every order ship tracked, even one roll?
Yes. One roll goes in a carton with a tracking number like any other order. There is no untracked option.
Where does the tracking number arrive?
In an email to the address on the quote, sent the evening the order leaves. Ask on WhatsApp and we send it there too.
Can I give a delivery window or a closed day?
Yes. Put closed days on the quote. Cartons arrive on business days without an appointment; pallets are booked with you by phone.
How is a misprint judged?
Against the approved proof, side by side. If the print on the paper differs from what you approved, it is a misprint and it is reprinted.
Does the 10-day reporting window count weekends?
It counts calendar days from the delivery scan. A carton delivered on a Friday needs its photos in by the Monday a week and a half later.
Who pays for the reprint's delivery?
We do. A reprint ships free and tracked like the original, and it goes to the front of the production queue.
What if the tracking says delivered but nothing arrived?
Check the dock, the office and the neighbor first, then email us straight away with the quote number. We open a trace with the delivery company and reprint or refund if it stays lost.
Can a damaged roll be partly used while I wait?
Yes. Take the photos first, then use the good paper. The reprint or refund covers the damaged part, not the roll you finished.
